This looks like the TV show Blockbusters but is actually a decent word game. You make words by linking the letters in the grid. It's quite a task finding them sometimes but press the silly man in the hat and get a new grid. It's a little bit harder that other word games but still just as much fun.

REVIEWS:

Word Flow is easy to pick up, and challenging once you get into it...Word Flow allows you to test yourself on your vocabulary skills in a game that feels like trying to master a good cross word puzzle or a good round of Scrabble. - AppCraver.com

Great for when you have time to kill...I like the user interface. Everything moves really well...definitely a game for all ages...You'd be crazy not to go and get this game and definitely enjoy playing it. - iPhone App Podcast

The game looks great. The graphics have a very vintage, ye olde tone to them and it almost feels like you're playing a real world game. The touch controls are simple and responsive as you move the tiles around — in my play, I experienced no lag in movement. - The Apple Blog

If you like words, it's pretty cool...Fun little game...Definitely worth checking out - Gamers with jobs podcast

Even though this game is quite unique, it's way too hard to play at the moment! I've only been able to play it properly in the 10 minute game but that's too long to play a game imo. You get a grid of letters and move the whole row/column to create words, sounds good but it's hard to do.

Hopefully an update will make this game better but at this time I suggest you try the demo and make your own mind up.

========================================

Bring on your eagle eyes, and boost your observations skills in this classical Rebus style game, that promises to challenge your witty side with hours of entertainment.

Inspired by the popular TV Show, Concentration, STITCH'em WORDS is an extravaganza for all those looking for something beyond Scrabble and Anagrams.

The object of STITCH'em WORDS is to solve puzzles made of pictures and words. For example, combine the letter "T", with the picture representing "Rain", to make the word "Train." Or, combine the picture representing a "Star", with the letter "E", to make the word "Stare." Find hidden slang words, to earn bonus points. Use Hints if you get stuck - or aim for bonus points by staying away from them.

With hundreds of exciting levels, and random Bonus Rounds in which you must solve a Phrase to earn points, STITCH'em WORDS is here to test your vocabulary skills and concentration prowess!

It's about time to give your brain a fun workout!

** Note: IF THE APPLICATION IS CRASHING, PLEASE RESTART YOUR PHONE. IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN, PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL TO stitchemwords@gmail.com, before posting a negative review. We would be glad to help out.**

This is another different kind of word game and quite interesting. Has a few silly problems which an update can fix - some of the symbols are not clear, the hints are too small to read (especially for someone with glasses) and when you start again, its the same puzzles!

Otherwise it's good. You create phrases/words from the images and letters, which is quite good when you know what the image is... No demo so decide for yourself but I'd suggest getting it now while it's cheap and hopefully the update will make it a BUY!

Now finally not so much a review as a warning - if you see a game called Text Twist Turbo, do NOT buy it! I spent £1.19 on it and was quite impressed at first but one of the modes has a massive ADVERT from their other game(s)! Remember this is a paid game with ads?!

Oddly they have removed it, probably due to this problem but if it comes back don't waste you money until they at least fix this problem :(

Review : Word Games...

My current favourite games are Word games. I'm totally addicted to one at the moment called Sextuple Word Challenge.

iTunes info : http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=284723715&mt=8

Are you ready for Sextuple Word Challenge? Test your word skills against the clock by making words from 6-letter puzzles. Have fun and learn new words in this addictive word game!

- Endless fun with over 12,000 puzzles in your pocket
- Challenge yourself by finding all 20,000+ words
- Finish each level before time runs out for bonus points
- Instant Mobile Action: Play during calls or while listening to music on your iPhone/iPod touch! Automatic game saving allows you to switch in and out of the game without having to start over!

There are two modes for this game - Normal and Expert. To get to the next round you need to get 50% of the words (or 33% in Expert mode). You need to find this amount of words to advance to the next level. You can shake your iPod/iPhone to mix the letters up too.

I love this game as it just goes on and on but gives you different letters every time (apart from a few repeated ones) giving you a real challenge. They use a weird dictionary with some odd words but you can learn them. You can simply play this for hours!

If you want a list of the odd words or a cheat I have found, then use the email me section.

Get ready for an egg-citing game

Chicktionary is one of the most popular word games on the Internet and now you can hatch up some fun on your iPhone! Each hen bears a letter. The more words you create, the more points you earn!

Chicktionary has cool features that gives it depth and makes it one of the more engaging games on the iPhone:

- In a jam? Shake your iPhone to shuffle the chickens and get a new look at your word options. Yes, this is PETA friendly as no chickens were injured in the making of this game. So shake away!
- 300 Levels of word fun!
- Earn Eggchievements for crazy stuff or just playing the game like a pro!
- Other features include save game, local & worldwide scoreboards, hidden Easter eggs, game statistics and more!

Check out the Top 12 Chicktionary Tips
http://www.kewlbox.com/iphone

This game is much like Sextuple Word Challenge, as in you need to find words from the letter you are given but has a few twists to it - some good and some bad.

The good ones

  • the little chicken characters that make it a bit more fun.
  • you try for a bonus by guessing so many words in 2 minutes, which gets you a ribbon.
  • it displays a little graphic when your suggested word is new or a duplicate.
  • you get a beak sneak - where you get a letter in each word remaining to help you.
  • you get a free bird - fills in a word for you. Best towards to end.
  • shake your iPod/iPhone to mix up the letters (and the chickens make silly noises).
  • get Eggchievvments - little achievements for doing things like first game etc.
The bad one

  • you have to find ALL the words to complete the puzzle!

New rating system & reviewing...

I've decided that instead of writing long reviews with loads of pictures, like all the other review sites, I want my blog to be a quick review site. So you think about buying an application or game, search for it here.

So it's quite simple rating system really :-
  • Buy
  • Don't buy
  • Wait for the update
  • Take a look yourself
